I’ve been a cook my whole life. Mom taught my siblings and I how to cook all things breakfast and how to light the gas stove (using a match) at an early age. That way, she and Dad could sleep in on Saturdays! Mom went back to work when I was in high school, and I was tasked with cooking dinner for Dad, who was notoriously picky… I was a quick study and quickly mastered all the family recipes.
I worked much of my young life in Food & Beverage, but I was always front of house as waitstaff, bartender, or manager. However, I often ended my shift in the kitchen swapping recipes with the chef and talking about food.
My philosophy is, “Buy the best and freshest ingredients you can afford, and cook your ingredients at the proper temperature and just until done!”
